The Northern Territory could easily lay a claim to being Australia's most unique state. The rugged and wild landscape is perfectly adapted to excitement and adventure, and new discoveries await you around each corner. From the lush rainforests of Kakadu in the north, to the harsh beauty of the 'red centre' and the cosmopolitan multi cultural vibe of Darwin, this state will inspire and charm you when you traverse it with campervan hire.

The iconic Ayers Rock, now known as Uluru, is situated in the middle of Australia and at the bottom of the Northern Territory. A trip to this infamous and amazing geological formation begins in Alice Springs, where you pick up one of our top brand motorhomes and strike out south for Uluru, which is about a half days drive away. The deep red of the desert landscape and the clear blue skies make this a journey of vivid colours, the highlight of which is watching Uluru change colour under the waning light of the setting sun. The rich Aboriginal heritage of the area can be strongly felt, and is an attraction in itself. For a true Australian experience don't bypass Uluru when thinking of motor homes holidays.

Kakadu National Park is another attraction that is almost always mentioned in the same breath as the Northern Territory. This world heritage listed site is rich in so many things, and is renowned for its wide array of birdlife and animals. For close encounters of the scaly kind, you are guaranteed to see plenty freshwater crocodiles in the waterways here, just remember not to get too close! The large size of this park means the landscape changes from woodlands to forest to plains to desert, so different sights and sounds greet you around each corner. The park is easily accessible from Darwin, and numerous campsites cater well for motor homes. If Kakadu doesn't satisfy your National Park cravings, then head south for a couple of hours from Darwin to Litchfield National Park. Often overlooked in favour of Kakadu, it is just as beautiful and is known for its thundering waterfalls and high gorges. A true hidden treasure of Australia, and an ideal destination for families in their motorhomes.

If rugged mountains with steep sides, beautiful water formations and an array of bird and animal inhabitants are what your after, then the West MacDonnell Ranges will be right up your alley. Just an hour West of Alice Springs, you can see a lot of them in one day but will do more justice to the spectacular scenery if you take a few days to explore them. As far as motor homes holidays go, the Ranges are right up there with the best. Deep rock pools, picturesque waterfalls and steep sided gorges provide the backdrop to the special memories you are bound to form.
