Granite Belt Winery Guide

Queensland's Granite Belt wine country is home to some of Australia's best vineyards and wines. Positioned around the city of Stanthorpe, this is Queensland's most genuine four seasons destination.

While many choose to simply visit one or two wineries in the Stanthorpe region, the alternative route is much more appealing.

Embarking on a journey along the Granite Belt Drive in a campervan hire will introduce you to over 50 wineries, all boasting fabulous wines and beautiful vineyard settings.

The city of Stanthorpe and the area that surrounds it also offers some amazing natural attractions, all within a stones throw away. Discover some of the country's most untouched wilderness, explore areas not often visited and uncover hidden gems around every twist and turn.

Granite Belt Drive

The Granite Belt Wine Country is where delicious food and wine flourish. Along with the many wineries on offer, you will find an abundance of fresh produce, including apples, stone fruits, olives and berries. Explore the local farms and pick up some bargains at the weekend markets.

The best way to discover Stanthorpe and the Granite Belt country is by basing yourself in the region.

Old Caves Winery

Offering something for the whole family, Old Caves specialises in "everyday" non-vintage wines. With wines that range from sweet to dry, white to red tables wines and fortified wines, there is sure to be something here for all.

The vineyards are also pleasant to tour, with opportunities to see how the wine is made on offer and 12 acres of rolling hills awaiting.

Thunderbolt Farm

Offering stunning valley views, Thunderbolt is all about fine wine and fabulous food. The farm setting is very European and boasts a warm and welcoming feel.

The estate has an excellent selection of wines and the liqueurs and ports also come highly recommended.

Castle Glen

What makes this winery so unique is of course the fact that it boasts a stunning castle-like setting.

Castle Glen Vineyard and Brewery offers world class liqueurs, red wine, white wine, sparkling wine, fortified wines, port and boutique beer, ensuring there is something for all tastes.

Bald Rock National Park

Located just on the interstate border between Queensland and New South Wales, Bald Rock is Australia's second largest exposed granite type rock (after Uluru).

The rock rises above lush forest with the views at the top spanning across the Granite Belt and beyond.

Boonoo Boonoo Falls

These falls are usually pumping all year round and are surrounded by stunning native flowers and lush bush settings.
