AutoRent Hertz (Available Tasmania only)

Standard Liability

All AutoRent Hertz Campers vehicles come with comprehensive insurance cover. A standard excess of $5,000.00 applies in the event of any damage to either our vehicle or third party property. In addition to the standard liability there is a $2000 excess ($7000 total) IF an accident occurs on an unsealed road or overhead damage occurs by failing to clear low objects. This is not able to be removed.

The Standard Liability can be reduced by purchasing one of the following Reduction Options:

Backpacker

Standard Liability

The hirer is responsible for the first AU$1,900 (18 - 20) or AU$1,000 (21 and over) for the Breezer, AU$2,700 for the Nomad & Wanderer or AU$4,000 for Off-Roader 4WD (21 and over only) of ANY ACCIDENT COST of damage to Third Party property or to the rented vehicle, including single vehicle accident, windscreen and tyre damage, overhead and underbody damage, towing and recovery costs, theft, fire, break in or vandalism. This also includes the cost of the daily rental rate for the period the vehicle is off fleet for accident repairs (demurrage). The excess applies in respect of each claim, not rental.

This Standard Excess can be reduced by purchasing one of the following options at the depot:

No Worries Cover(PCO):

Where No Worries cover is taken out with Backpacker in addition to Excess Reduction Option 2, the hirer will not have to pay any excess at all for any damage to the vehicle or property of a third party and they are covered for overhead and underbody accidental damage (exclusions apply).

Britz

This also includes the cost of the daily rental rate for the period the vehicle is off fleet for accident repairs (demurrage). The excess applies in respect of each claim, not rental.

This Standard Excess can be reduced by purchasing one of the following options at the depot:

Where No Worries is taken out with Britz at a flat rate of AU$50 per rental ($120 for 4WD) in addition to Excess Reduction Option 2, the hirer will not have to pay any excess at all for any damage to the vehicle or property of a third party. AND you are covered for accidental overhead and underbody damage.

Cheapa Campa

Standard Liability

Cheapa Campa's rental charge includes a Standard Liability of $2,700 for 2 Berth vehicles and $5,000 for 4WD, 3 ,4 & 6 Berth. The bond will be collected at the time of entering into the Rental Contract. Payment of this Bond is only accepted by credit card. The amount above will be debited to the credit card account immediately. The Standard Liability can be reduced by purchasing one of the following Reduction Options:

Hippie Campers includes a Standard Liability of $2,500 or $3,500 if 18-20 years old. The bond will be collected at the time of entering into the Rental Contract. The Standard Liability can be reduced by purchasing one of the following Reduction Options:

Standard Liability

All KEA Campers vehicles come with comprehensive insurance cover. A standard excess of $5,000.00 applies in the event of any damage to either our vehicle or third party property. The renter will also be fully liable for replacing or repairing damaged windscreens and tyres.

This Standard Excess can be reduced by purchasing one of the following options at the depot:

Security Bonds

All Suppliers do take a Security Bond at the beginning of the rental, the amount of this bond is dependent on if you take out Excess Reduction and which option you take. Please be aware that the new trend is a credit card surcharge of between 1.75% and 4.5% on the amount paid on pickup, including the refundable bond.
