The vehicle was trouble free and reasonably economical on fuel, the annoying part of our trip was a constant squeaking noise coming from the cupboards rubbing up against the body work. Some form of shade cloth or awning on a slide in rail on the side of the camper would be a good improvement to providing some comfort in the camp sites
The vehicle was very good. My husband found it a little hard to drive and manouver but eventually got used to the clutch. We got good mileage and had no mechanical worries during the trip. The bed was of a good size and very comfortable. The cupboard space was adequate and cupboards were secure. The gas burners were sometimes a bit hard to light, but usually at least one would light. We found that using the microwave caused the drawer above to become very hot, and the whole cabin would retain the heat, making for very hot temperatures during the nights inside the van.
Terrific. Comfortable.Went well.
Excellent vehicle, would love to have had cruise control.
We drove the campervan from Brisbane to Gladstone, where we started our holiday.
The campervan drove very well. Having the outside table and chairs was great for meals. Having both sleeping bags and blanket on board was good. We found the nights too hot for sleeping bags. Most of the time we just used the sheets. The equipment in the van was good. The jug, toaster, cultery, crockery and cooking equipment. Just what was needed.
Good size of vehicle to go in different roads, easy to drive in town.
Enough place to live for 2 people.
Well conceived vehicle for itinerant travel for 1 or 2 people.
Great vehicle for what we wanted and great service.
ok for one person
hate having to use a manual, no choice there!
ventilation needs radical improvemnt,
12volt sockets need to be run to back of van for all the accessories we have nowadays,
The campervan we hired was excellent.
It ran extremely well and had everything we needed to be self contained. The only problem was I wish we could have kept travelling and not had to return home and back to work.
The Vehicle was comfortable and ran well.
fridge really rumorous.....impossible to let it work while sleeping.....
We knew there was no air-conditioning in the rear of the vehicle for when sleeping at night, however we think it would be a very good idea if Apollo installed just a 12 volt fan to cover this - it would make those very hot nights bearable. Otherwise, great little van!
we actually had a transit van. We thought it was really good.No probs except it had a problem with the water storage which i think was a fault of only our van.Loved our holiday and will be back for more
Would have rated it much higher except that there was little if any pre - delivery maintenance.
I found having the side sliding door permanently locked because the bench, cook top and fridge were obstructing it, made exiting the van at night with the bed made very awkward having to enter in and out through the cab doors, hitting my head most times on the over head.Apart from that we had a pleasant journey in our van.
value for money as good as any. checkin/out excellent.
We were very happy with our Hitop. It was in perfect condition and when we picked it up in spotless condition. We had no problems during our 6 week holiday. The Apollo staff in Darwin and Melbourne are excellent. We will be back !!
Great campervan very comfortable
set up was very poorly designed. cupboards would not open completely. The slide door was dificult to open from the inside due to the location of sink. Had a great trip though
I was upgraded to a Cheapa Camper Hitop which I found extraordinary. It was the perfect vehicle for what I did and where I went. The vehicle was mostly clean except for the seat cushion next to the sliding door. Mechanically, the van was flawless and handled very well. The only problem I had was driving in the almost constant wind and it took time each day to acclimate. The van would sway and be pushed around by the wind. A lower profile vehicle would have handled better, but for the type of vehicle this one was, it did great.
Almost perfect, it did leak water a little but didnt affect the experience.
Good generally speaking, safe on the road.
Three little problems: the water tank is very difficult to fill (hole too small and difficult to access).
The smoke alarm is too sensitive: il starts whenever you use the toaster !
A water pump would definitely be necessary. The hand pump is not handy at all.
The hitop camper was our worst camper of the 3 campers we had in Australia. The camper was not cleaned so we had lots of ants.
Everything was in order. The vehicle was a bit worn out - but run perfect
Very comfortable for tropical Cairns area, when it is possible to sit outside most of the time. Small, easy to drive and park, and economical.
Feedback might not be so positive after 2 weeks of cold rainy weather.
Great vehicle, easy to drive, clean and well designed.
We had a very good experience with this van. Booking, pick up and drop off worked very well.
Vehicle was good,
Frig was a waste of time, needs to be bigger or in a different place. Not easy to get at, as you had to either get down on your hands and knees or reach in from outside the vehicle to get anything in or out. Other than that not bad.
Camper was clean and in good order. Great for a short trip.
good, clean
had all I needed
some concern over fuel tank, only did about 350kms a tank, bit small for outback driving
we actually got a Ford Transit substituted. The vehicle was fine except the length of it made parking in towns a bit harder than a smaller one. Also there seemed to be a fault with the water tank as we were always running out of water even though we did not use a lot (we measured the grey water output to check this). Hence we did not use the shower. The air-con in the cabin did not cool the cab down so i guess there was a fault there. The cupboards rattled very badly and we had to stuff paper in them when driving. It needed rubber strips to stop the rattles. However we were pretty happy overall.
Car was in very good condition (4 years old). We were enjoying all equipment, everything working well. Car had really good consumption (11 litres per 100km), even when I was driving around 110 km per hour. I think it is best value for money.
brand new vehicle - absolutely no compliants
We had two vans on our trip, as the first one had a leek in the A pipe so it leaked coolant, so we had to swap vehicles in Adelaide. HOWEVER. The second van was far superior to the first- slightly more compact and smaller, but with all the same facilities- and was absolutely brilliant! It felt very secure on the road, went like the clappers and had all the great mod cons. Used the stove fridge and toaster most frequently. Very happy. Our rating, therefore, is for the second vehicle.
Was very disappointed in the maintenance work done on the van. We lost three hours of our holiday while the van was repaired because the van would not switch from battery to mains power. It had wrong connections, loose connections and no connections at all. Once repaired, van went well. It also seems that the hirer does the checking to see that everything in the van is present and working. For instance, there was no sink plug present and we were expected to buy one and keep the receipt for reimbursement. That to me is not part of our responsibility after hiring the vehicle. Can opener also did not work. The bucket supplied should have been renewed as it was not in a fit state.
Only issue was CD player would not read burnt cds. Everything else was wonderful.
Overal a good vehicle for the price.
Sink tap leaked into cupboard and had obviously being doing so for some time.
One of the roof windows did not open properly.Shame it was only a two way fridge and not three as told.
Apart from the two minor faults above a good deal.
Booking process could not have been easier and staff extremely helpful
This vehicle was brilliant for two persons. I would definitely rent this vehicle again.
Just perfect for 2 people. Easy to drive and comfortable. Would highly recommend the vehicle and the company
Presented clean inside and out but a little tired, but what can you complain about for the competitive price!
Great vehicle! Well stocked and in good order.
Think we were upgraded but the vehicle was fantastic. Nearly new and well kitted out with everything you need. Think it is most suited to 2 people rather than 3. Great service from Cheapa too.
