VW very reliable averaged 10L per 100k,s travell 21060 klms.
Needed another duvet as we started in Darwin which was warm but we were frozen by the time we got to Melbourne. Need more than two towels and one tea towel in case you have a few days between laundry facilities. Also need more coffee cups and glasses in case you have visitors , too many rattles with cupboard doors. LPG bottle was the wrong size for a swap a bottle.
Very well equiped, with everything we needed (expect wine glasses)
Everything was all there, we were very comfortable.
The van was fine, good to drive and had all the fitted equipment we needed. Did miss a grill or oven.
Was very easy to pack and go each day. The toilet was a lifesaver in a couple of places. Very good to drive and not too big when you were in towns. Was perfect for the two of us.
We loved the space, layout and the actual ease that the campervan gave in everything ie comfort and great driving. We were so impressed that we are looking to buy our own. Cheers Kathy and Jim Fenn NZ
The camper van was ferst class, no problins at all.servic at the depo was to slow.
Good fuel economy, comfortable to drive/travel in. The only real critisism would be that the fridge is on the smallish side. It was good to come back from some sight seeing, run the motor and aircon and enjoy a cool drink or a cuppa and some lunch without the flies and heat being a problem.
A good reliable vehicle. There were a couple of minor issues that we passed on to the guy at the Apollo office and he seemed interested to hear them.
The van has a really good set-up except for the fridge does not run on LPG and if you are staying somewhere for a period of time and not doing much travel, 240V power is necessary. If the fridge were run on gas also it would be a tremendous advantage.
Nothing to complain about at all.
very good for general touring and in powered sites but a suffocating disaster at park sites as there no fly screens to allow air flow in heavy mosquito areas of the Northern Territory
It was slow on the pickup but very very comfortable. Would have liked a broom and also a little mat to put on the ground at the slide door so as to stop dirt or mud from going into the van. Everything else was very good.
few rattles but over all very good pick up was rushed
A near new vehicle hired in good condition. The two outdoor chairs and table were useless. Cheap and nasty. Certainly not worth the hire cost.
the accesories were poor, not enough tap fittings to accomodate various campground. No brush and pan to keep interior clean and the altimate sin a fridge that didnt work. Otherwise comfortable and drove very well long delay finalising the pickup of the van (1.50hrs) poor introduction to the van. but we still had a good trip.
The pick-up process was pretty slow. If there is anyway of speeding it up it would be great. We went to view the campers before booking one and to ask questions about them, and everyone was too busy to help us. Perhaps more staff or better management would help.
The vehicle was clean and in excellent order, except for the pan which was wrapped but not cleaned. Overall excellent vehicle, driving was easy and comfortable
Vehicle was good to drive, clean, the rattles from cupboards made conversation difficult and we wondered how thin rubber seals would have assisted in this
went well we found it a bit small, esp shower, toilet
We booked a couple of months before we arrived in oz. When we arrived at Apollo they informed us that as we booked through Discovery, we were fortunate enough to get an upgrade on our vehicle and it was more than we ever anticipated. The camper was new, spacious and had everything we needed, even a lcd tv that picked up channels in campsites!
I would have give them 5 stars but the heater broke and we had to buy a new one. Head Office did not let the office in Hobart know my flight details so we were left standing in the rain for a hole hour cheers leonie henderson
Everything worked although bed making became a bit tedious after a week or so. Did not end up using tghe shower a lot although the on-board toilet was handy at night. Generally well put together and reliable.
Mechanically the vehicle ran quite well, fuel consumption fair but the interior was very tired. We were pretty shocked at the insurance set up Apollo has. Margaret Easton
The vehicle was very comfortable, safe and a pleasure to drive. We found the help service using the phone number on the ignition key fast and efficient when we were unfortunate to have a punture. We would definitely use Discovery again as the staff were very friendly and helpfull. Kathy & Jim Fenn NewZealand.
The vehicle was very neat and tidy, the TV was excellent, fuel economy was good although we did not travel far. My only dis-appointments were (1) the complimentary tea bags provided were enclosed in a sealed bag with the soap and the tea tasted crap, and (2) one of the pillow cases provided had a really bad odour to it, had to put a towel over it to stop the smell so I could sleep. Apart from these 2 little very minor things, I would definitely hire another when the situation arises.
Set up great, and drove beaut. But driver seat lacked adjustment for me, and I am only a short 6footer. Tall drivers would find steering wheel too close I think, unless they liked it that way.
Excellent new campervan, we were first users. Our only trouble was with the fresh water hose. It was also brand new and the fitting was so tight, we were unable to unscrew the tap connection. The hose also would not fit into the tank opening. Evenually we found a campervan conversion garage, and they found (using headtorch & thin bendy cable) that the hose needed to be pushed upwards and round to the Left !! If we hired again, we would leave the cushions behind, unnecessary & took up too much space.
