Halls Gap is the largest town in the Grampians National Park, and an ideal place to
base your camper while you explore the park. Views of the surrounding mountain
ranges greet you every morning, and there is a range of accommodation to suit all
budgets. Enjoy a game of golf, a massage and a spa or a long bushwalk around the
nearby peaks. The region is renowned for its waterfalls, and no trip is complete without
a swim in one of the rock pool at their base.
The mountains here are a thriving centre for adventure activites. Hire canoes and
kayaks and go for an exciting row on the white water of the creeks and rivers.
Mountain climbing and abseiling are also popular sports. Mount Arapiles is where most
people converge for these adrenaline fuelled activities, so hop in your camper and head
across there to test your bravery! The slopes cater to all levels, so beginners need not
be afraid.
This region is one of the oldest established wine producing areas in Australia, so be sure to
stop in at some of the cellar doors to see what all the fuss is about. The Great Grape Road is
a handy touring route to take in your camper as it passes close to many of the bigger and older
wineries that are open to the public. The fertility of the region means that other agricultural produce
is also plentiful, so stock up your picnic basket.
